About

Julie Siler is a graduate of the Georgia State University Master’s Program in Communication Disorders. She completed her graduate training program at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital, and a Dekalb County Elementary School. For three years, she worked for Gwinnett County Public Schools and Brand Speech Pathology, Inc. serving various special education populations. For two years, Ms. Siler treated clients at Radiance Pediatric Therapy Services, Inc. in the Marcus Autism Center.

After starting Siler Speech Pathology, LLC in April, 2006 she worked as a contract SLP at the Hirsch Academy. There she honed her Floortime skills with children with Sensory Integration Dysfunction. More recently, Ms. Siler has been affiliated with The Hess Academy. There she assists with staff development, language based curriculum planning, and social groups. Ms. Siler has received extensive training in the areas of:

Treatment Approaches

Ms. Siler believes in functional therapy goals utilized within the child’s natural setting. Children achieve their goals through play and attachment. Parents or caregivers are expected to be involved and provide the child with daily opportunities to generalize what he or she is learning. Ms. Siler has training and experience in the following therapy approaches:

Education Consultation

Overwhelmed by your child’s recent diagnosis? Bewildered as you try to decipher a lengthy evaluation from their psychologist or developmental pediatrician? Ms. Siler is here to help you navigate this new world. 

Ms. Siler will review your child’s reports, further explain test scores and diagnoses, and collaborate with your family to chart a path forward. 

With her professional guidance, you’ll feel confident as you make plans for specific therapies, interventions, parent support groups, and special education placement. 

Ms. Siler’s extensive familiarity with the private schools in the Atlanta area means she can offer valuable insights and make personalized recommendations for appropriate classroom placement for your child. And she’ll help you weigh your options between public and private schools before investing time and resources in the application process.

Includes intake phone call, review of all reports from professionals, parent meeting to develop strategy and outline next steps, 30-minute in-person meeting with child, outreach to other professionals, a list of schools to visit and/or apply to, and a follow-up phone conversation. 

Sessions

Treatment sessions are 30 to 50 minutes in length including 5 minutes of discussion with parents or caregivers. Sessions occur once or twice weekly. Every effort is made to schedule clients at a time convenient to the child’s schedule.

Children are treated in their home, daycare, or school. When appropriate, Ms. Siler collaborates with teachers and other therapists to create treatment plans which support educational (IEP) goals for the child.

Comprehensive Evaluation: $800
Articulation/Oral Motor Evaluation: $400
Treatment: $160 per 50 minute session
$90 per 30 minute session
Speech Language Hearing Screening: $75

Siler Speech Language and Literature, LLC is an out of network provider with all forms of primary and secondary insurance. Siler Speech Language and Literature, LLC will provide an invoice and/or receipt so that you can file claims with your insurance company. No hidden fees for reports, data/notes, or conversations with other professionals.

Location

Currently servicing clients in Decatur & surrounding neighborhoods. Ms. Siler’s home office is located in the Winnona Park neighborhood within the City of Decatur.
